Using the "Moments" Button

The Moments feature lets you mark important plays while a game is happening so they're easier to find and share afterward.

Instead of trying to remember when a great play happened, simply tap Mark Moment during the game. BallerCam saves the timestamp and creates a short clip around that play for you to review later. Moments is available across supported BallerCam sports.

🔥 What Is a Moment?

A Moment is a bookmarked section of your live game.

When you tap Mark Moment, BallerCam creates a clip that includes:

• 8 seconds before you pressed the button
• 2 seconds after you pressed the button

This gives you a 10-second clip centered around the play you wanted to save. You can review and edit the Moment later.

Moments are useful for marking plays such as:

• Goals
• Great shots
• Saves
• Blocks
• Aces
• Digs
• Great catches
• Long runs
• Defensive stops
• Other memorable plays

📱 Use a Second Device for Moments

Moments can be used from a second iOS device while another iPhone continues filming the game.

This allows one person to focus on filming while someone else:

• Marks Moments
• Keeps score
• Tracks important plays

Using a second device means you don't need to interrupt the filming session to mark a highlight.

Your secondary iOS device can be an older compatible iPhone or iPad that supports the BallerCam app. The iPhone 13 Pro or newer requirement applies to the filming device.

▶️ How to Start Using Moments

Once your game is live:

1. Open the BallerCam app on the second device.
2. From Global Home, locate the game currently in progress.
3. Open the live game experience.
4. Look for Mark Moment.
5. Tap Mark Moment whenever something happens that you want to save.

Each tap creates a timestamp for that play and adds it to your Moments for the game. 

🔥 Using the Baller Button

If you're watching the game in-venue but aren't keeping score, you may see the Baller button.

Tap the Baller button when an important play happens.

It works as a quick way to mark the play without needing to enter scoring information at the same time.

🏆 Using Moments While Keeping Score

You can also mark Moments while you're keeping score. 

You'll need Keep Score permission to use the scoring interface.

To do this:

1. Open the live game.
2. Tap Keep Score.
3. Enter the scoring interface.
4. Use Mark Moment whenever you want to save a play.

Because the button is available within the scoring experience, you can manage the game and mark highlights without constantly switching between screens.

⏱️ When Should I Tap Mark Moment?

Tap the button as soon as the important play happens.

Because BallerCam includes the previous 8 seconds in the clip, you don't have to predict that a great play is about to happen.

For example, if a player scores a great goal:

1. Watch the goal happen.
2. Tap Mark Moment immediately afterward.
3. BallerCam includes the action leading up to your tap.

This makes Moments useful for fast-moving sports where you may not know a highlight is happening until the play is complete.

⭐ Using Favorite Players With Moments

Moments can also work with your Favorite Players.

To favorite a player:

1. Open your team from Teams, then select People to find its players.

2. Find the player you want to follow.
3. Tap the star icon next to the player.

Favorite Player information can then be used when Moments are created, helping connect saved plays with the athletes you're following.

Favorite Athletes can also appear directly on Global Home, where their cards may surface related:

• Games
• Clips
• Moments

Selecting an athlete takes you to that athlete's profile.

🎬 Reviewing Your Moments After the Game

Once the game is over, you can return to the game and review the Moments you marked.

Saved Moments can include:

• The video clip
• The Moment's timestamp
• Player information
• Play-type information

BallerCam keeps the Moments associated with the game so you can review and organize them afterward. For supported experiences such as Flag Football, marked Moments are available from the game's detail screen after the game ends. 

Saved Moment Review decisions stay in sync between the app and web. If you switch devices, refresh the review to see your latest saved decisions.

✂️ Finding Clips and Highlights

BallerCam's current team navigation includes:

• Overview
• People
• Games
• Clips

The Clips area provides access to your team's clips and highlights, while Global Home can also surface relevant clips and highlights across the teams and athletes you follow.

To review content for a specific game, you can also open the game from your team's Games section.

👤 Add or Change Player Tags

If a saved Moment needs player information added or corrected, you can update the player associated with that Moment.

This is helpful when:

• A player wasn't identified during the live game
• The wrong player was selected
• More than one player needs to be associated with the play
• You want to organize highlights by athlete

Reviewing player tags after the game can help keep each athlete's clips and Moments organized correctly. 

A Moment can include multiple players. Your selected players and custom tags are preserved when you edit and review the Moment.

🏷️ Add a Play Type

You can also categorize a Moment by adding the appropriate play type.

For example, Volleyball play types may include:

• Kill
• Block
• Assist
• Dig
• Ace

To update a saved Moment:

1. Open the Moment.
2. Select the appropriate play type.
3. Update the player information if needed.
4. Save your changes.

Available play types can vary depending on the sport.

✂️ Editing a Saved Moment

When you edit a saved Moment, its saved start and end points and selected replay view are preserved unless you change them. Custom tags remain separate from the selected play type, and the Moment keeps its privacy setting while the updated clip is processed.

Review the video, players, and tags, then save your changes. If saving fails, retry and confirm that your changes were saved before leaving.

📤 Sharing a Moment

After reviewing and tagging a Moment, you can share the clip with others.

To share:

1. Open the saved Moment.
2. Review the clip and its tags.
3. Tap the available Share option.
4. Choose how you'd like to send or share the clip.

This makes it easy to send memorable plays to players, coaches, friends, and family.

🔒 Change Visibility for Multiple Moments

You can change the visibility of selected Moments together. Select the Moments you want to update, choose the available visibility option, and apply your selection.

Private clips display a private badge. If only some updates succeed, review the results and retry the Moments that were not updated.

🔥 Moments vs. Scoring-Based Clips

Moments and scoring-based clips are related, but they're not the same thing.

Moments

You choose when to mark the play by tapping Mark Moment.

This is useful for anything you consider important—even when it isn't a scoring play.

Scoring-Based Clips

For supported sports and scoring workflows, BallerCam can automatically create clips from scoring events.

For example, real-time Basketball scoring from a secondary device can automatically create clips for recorded plays. 

Using both features can help you capture:

• Scoring plays automatically
• Other memorable plays manually with Moments

🏈 Example: Using Moments for Flag Football

During a Flag Football game, you can tap the 🔥 Moments button to bookmark plays such as:

• A great catch
• A long run
• A defensive stop

After the game, BallerCam can provide both your marked Moments and supported scoring clips from the game detail experience.

• Use a second device so the filming iPhone can remain focused on recording.
• Keep the live game open so Mark Moment is easy to reach.
• Tap Mark Moment immediately after the play you want to save.
• Don't wait several seconds after the action has ended.

• Review Moments after the game.
• Add or correct player tags when needed.
• Add play types to make your highlights easier to organize.
