Joining a Team as a Fan

Joining a team as a Fan lets you follow the team, watch games, receive updates, and stay connected without needing team-management permissions.

Fans can join using the team’s single shareable link, and Creator approval is not required for the Fan role.

👥 What Can a Fan Do?

As a Fan, you can:

• Watch team livestreams
• Watch game replays
• View the team page and game schedule
• Create and share clips
• Favorite players you want to follow
• Receive alerts when the team goes live
• Receive final-score notifications

Fans are designed for family members, friends, and supporters who want to follow the team without managing it.

🔗 How to Join a Team as a Fan

1. Get the Team Link

Ask the team Creator or another team member to send you the team’s shareable link.

The link can be shared through:

• Text message
• Email
• Group chat
• Other messaging apps

BallerCam uses one shareable team link for people joining the team.

2. Open the Team Link

Tap the link you received.

You’ll be taken to the team’s BallerCam page, either through:

• The BallerCam app, or
• BallerCam on the web

3. Sign In or Create a Free BallerCam Account

To officially follow the team as a Fan, sign in to your BallerCam account.

If you don’t have an account yet, you can create one for free.

Once signed in, continue with the team-joining process.

4. Select Fan

When asked how you’re connected to the team, select:

Fan

Then confirm that you want to follow the team.

Fans do not need to wait for the team Creator to approve the request.

Once you’ve joined, the team will be connected to your BallerCam account.

🏠 Finding the Team After You Join

After following the team, open the BallerCam app and tap Teams.

Your Teams section gives you access to the teams you manage or follow.

Open the team to access available areas such as:

• Team information
• Games
• Players
• Clips and highlights
• Upcoming games

You can return to the team whenever you want without reopening the original invite link.

📺 Watching Livestreams

When the team starts a livestream, you can open the game from BallerCam and watch it live.

Fans who follow the team can also receive an alert when the team goes live.

This makes it easier to keep up with games without needing someone to send you a new stream link every time.

▶️ Watching Replays

Following the team also gives you access to available game replays.

After a game has ended, open the team and select the game you want to watch.

Replay availability and video quality can depend on whether the game was livestreamed and whether the filmer has uploaded the HD recording.

✂️ Creating and Sharing Clips

Fans can create clips from available BallerCam games and replays.

Clips are useful for saving moments such as:

• Goals
• Made shots
• Aces
• Saves
• Great defensive plays
• Other memorable moments

You can then share supported clips with family, friends, players, or teammates.

⭐ Following Your Favorite Players

You can also favorite players you want to follow more closely.

Favoriting an athlete helps BallerCam surface relevant content connected to that player, including available games, clips, and Moments.

This can be especially useful for parents, relatives, or supporters who primarily follow one athlete.

🔔 Notifications for Fans

After joining as a Fan, you can receive team updates such as:

• Livestream alerts when the team goes live
• Final-score notifications after games

Make sure BallerCam notifications are allowed on your device if you want to receive these alerts.

🛠️ What Can’t a Fan Do?

The Fan role is intended for viewing and following rather than team management.

By default, Fans do not have special team-management permissions.

This means Fans cannot normally:

• Film games on behalf of the team
• Edit the team
• Manage the roster
• Manage team members

Fans do not have Keep Score permission by default. The team Creator can enable it when needed, so you can help keep score without changing your Fan role.

For other team responsibilities, choose the role that matches your involvement with the team.

👤 Fan vs. Other Team Roles

When joining a BallerCam team, different roles are available depending on how you’re connected to the team.

For example:

• Fan — Follow and watch the team
• Parent/Guardian — Connect with a youth athlete and receive approved team permissions
• Coach — Participate in team operations with approved permissions
• Team Staff — Help manage supported team and game functions
• Player — Join the team as an eligible athlete

Unlike roles that provide additional team access, Fan membership does not require Creator approval.

🌐 Can I Watch Without Joining as a Fan?

You may be able to watch a livestream without a BallerCam account when someone sends you a direct livestream link.

However, joining the team as a Fan gives you the full fan experience, including access to features such as:

• Replays
• Clips
• Team alerts
• Final-score notifications
• Favorite players

If you regularly follow the team, joining as a Fan is the easiest way to keep everything connected to your account.

🔄 Can I Stop Following a Team Later?

Yes.

If you no longer want to follow a team, you can unfollow or leave it from your BallerCam account.

If you decide to follow the team again later, you can use its shareable team link to rejoin.

• Make sure you’re signed in to the correct account.
• Select Fan if you only want to follow and watch the team.
• Allow BallerCam notifications if you want live-game and final-score alerts.
