Does the BallerCam livestream show scores in real-time?

Yes. BallerCam can display the game score as an overlay on the livestream and replay.

Depending on the sport and setup, the score can be provided in two ways:

• Live scorekeeping in the BallerCam app
• Scoreboard Detection, which can read supported physical venue scoreboards automatically

🏆 Live Scorekeeping

When someone keeps score during the game using BallerCam, the score appears as an overlay for viewers.

The overlay can include:

• Team scores
• Team colors selected during game setup
• Other game information supported by the sport

The scoring device can be:

• The primary iPhone filming the game, or
• A secondary iOS device being used by someone with Keep Score permission

Using a secondary iOS device is recommended when the filming iPhone is mounted high on a tripod.

📲 Scoring From a Secondary iOS Device

A secondary iOS device lets one person manage the score while the primary iPhone remains focused on filming.

To keep score:

1. Sign in to the BallerCam app.
2. Open the live game from Global Home.
3. Tap Keep Score.
4. Complete the available game settings.
5. Enter scoring events as they happen.

The account being used must have the appropriate Keep Score permission.

For Players age 13+, Keep Score is enabled by default unless the team Creator changes that permission.

📺 Scoreboard Detection

For supported sports, BallerCam can also use Scoreboard Detection to read information directly from the physical scoreboard at the venue.

This means the score overlay does not always require someone to enter every score manually.

🏀 Basketball Scoreboard Detection

For Basketball, BallerCam can automatically read the physical scoreboard using the camera feed and display the detected information on the livestream overlay.

Supported information can include:

• Home score
• Away score
• Period
• Game clock

Before the game, set the detection area so the physical scoreboard is clearly captured.

For the best results:

• Include the Home score, Away score, Period, and Clock.
• Keep shot clocks outside the detection area.
• Set up Scoreboard Detection before tipoff.
• Make sure the scoreboard remains clearly visible.
• Monitor the detected score during the game.

🏐 Volleyball Scoreboard Detection

BallerCam also supports Scoreboard Detection for Volleyball.

Depending on the venue scoreboard, BallerCam can detect information such as:

• Team scores
• Set or game number
• Team identifiers
• Match score
• Other available scoreboard information

For reliable detection, keep the scoreboard clearly visible and avoid:

• Obstructions
• Excessive glare
• Reflections
• Poor lighting
• Extreme camera angles

At set transitions, verify that the detected point score and set information remain accurate.

⚠️ What If Scoreboard Detection Is Inaccurate?

Scoreboard Detection should be monitored during the game.

For Basketball, similar-looking scoreboard digits such as 6 and 8 or 1 and 7 may occasionally be misread.

If the detected score becomes incorrect:

• Manually correct and resync the score.
• Check whether the detection area is capturing the correct scoreboard information.
• Make sure a shot clock isn't interfering.
• If the game clock cannot be detected reliably, disable clock detection and enter it manually.

❓ What If No One Keeps Score?

If live scoring is not being entered and Scoreboard Detection is not enabled or available for the game, BallerCam will not have live scoring information to display as a score overlay.

You can still film or livestream the game without keeping score.

The final score can also be updated later.

🎥 Will the Score Overlay Appear on a Downloaded HD Video?

Score information is visible when watching supported games through the BallerCam app or BallerCam.com.

The current BallerCam experience does not include the score overlay when the HD game video itself is downloaded to an iPhone or computer.

This does not affect the score overlay shown when watching the game through BallerCam.
