To film games, you’ll need BallerCam hardware, a supported iPhone 13 Pro or newer, and the BallerCam app.
AI auto-panning supports Basketball, Soccer, Futsal, Volleyball, Flag Football / 7v7, Lacrosse, and Ice Hockey.
Pickleball is supported in the Philippines and India with baseline filming, without AI auto-panning.
🏀 The BallerTV Story
Since 2016, BallerTV has provided live and on-demand youth sports coverage for clubs, tournaments, and schools.
Traditionally, BallerTV handled the production process behind the scenes, including:
- Providing equipment
- Staffing events
- Managing livestreams
- Providing viewing access
Over time, BallerTV developed technology that includes:
- AI-powered ball tracking and auto-panning
- Scoring and scoreboard overlays
- Real-time streaming
- Highlight and clipping tools
BallerCam brings those capabilities directly to individual teams.
🎥 What Makes BallerCam Different?
BallerCam is designed as a DIY sports-production solution.
Instead of relying on a production crew to film each game, teams can use their own compatible iPhone with BallerCam hardware and the BallerCam app.
Key Differences
- You control the production — your team films and manages its own games.
- Share with your community — BallerCam content can be shared with fans, families, and teammates without requiring viewers to purchase a BallerTV subscription.
- Automated filming — BallerCam uses auto-tracking technology to help follow the action.
- Built-in team tools — scoring, stats, clips, rosters, athlete profiles, and other features are integrated into the BallerCam experience.
- Sport-specific features — available tools can vary depending on the sport and feature being used.
📱 How BallerCam Works
To film games with BallerCam, you'll use the BallerCam device together with a compatible iPhone and the BallerCam app.
1. BallerCam Hardware
The BallerCam device is designed to hold your iPhone while filming.
The BallerCam unit includes:
- A wide-angle 180° field-of-view lens
- A built-in cooling fan
- A portable battery
- Weather protection for outdoor filming
2. The BallerCam App
The BallerCam iOS app is used to set up and manage your games.
The app can be used for:
- Filming
- Livestreaming
- Recording
- Scoring
- Managing games
- Managing teams and rosters
- Reviewing and sharing content
The filming experience currently requires a compatible iPhone. Android devices are not currently supported as the primary BallerCam filming device. Another person can keep score using a secondary iOS device signed into an account with Keep Score permission for the team. Older supported iPhones and iPads can be used for scoring; they do not need to meet the filming iPhone minimum.
3. Film the Game
Once your iPhone is mounted in the BallerCam device, the hardware and app work together to capture the game.
BallerCam's automated technology can follow the action through panning and other filming controls so the person operating BallerCam does not need to manually follow the action.
🧠 More Than Just Filming
BallerCam includes additional features to help teams organize, understand, and share their games.
Available features can depend on the sport, plan, and game setup.
Scoring and Stats
Teams can keep score during games and, for supported sports, track player statistics and other game events.
- Basketball: Choose Basic, Player, or Advanced scoring. After HD upload, use Basketball Tag Stats in the app to tag and edit replay events in portrait or landscape, including games with imported Smart Plays. Download detailed Box Scores in PNG, PDF, or CSV format, with exports matching your selected teams, statistics, sorting, and filters.
- Volleyball: Use Point Classification and Tag Stats to record supported events such as kills, aces, blocks, and errors.
- Soccer: Track goals and assists. Add an opponent roster to attribute opponent goals to the players who scored them.
- Lacrosse: Record goals and assists and track player contributions.
- Flag Football / 7v7: Use sport-specific scoring and capture important plays with Moments.
- Ice Hockey: Keep score through periods, overtime, and shootouts, credit goals and up to two assists, and track player statistics.
Available scoring and stat tools vary by sport.
AI-Powered Plays
For Basketball, AI Plays identifies supported shot events and connects them with video clips, helping you find important plays without searching through the full replay.
Completed AI Plays remain available while the HD recording is processing. Player and jersey attribution appears when ready, and you can review and manually assign players and assists.
AI Plays settings also let you manage team colors and processing preferences for future games. Review detected plays for accuracy before relying on them for statistics.
Team and Season Stats
For supported sports such as Soccer, Basketball, and Volleyball, Team Stats can bring season performance, player statistics, selected matches, and Top Plays together on the team's profile.
Scoreboard and Match Information
Depending on the sport, BallerCam also supports tools such as:
- Scoreboard Detection
- Live score overlays
- Match Time
- Period or set management
- Player and game statistics
These tools help viewers follow the game while giving teams more control over their game information.
👥 Who Uses BallerCam?
Different people can participate in a BallerCam team depending on their role and permissions.
👑 Creators
Creators are typically the people responsible for setting up and managing the team.
Creators can:
- Film games
- Keep score
- Manage the roster
- Manage team members and permissions
- Share livestreams and team content
- Invite others to join the team
👥 Members
Members are trusted team participants who can help contribute to the team's BallerCam experience.
Depending on their role and permissions, Members may be able to:
- Keep score
- Film games
- Manage roster information
- Help manage the team
- Share team content
The Creator can control which permissions are available to individual team members.
🏃 Players
BallerCam now includes a dedicated Player role for eligible athletes.
The Player role is available for athletes age 13 and older, including Adult teams. Players under 13 are not eligible for the Player role.
Players begin with the following default permissions:
| Permission | Default |
|---|---|
| Keep Score | ✅ Enabled |
| Film | ❌ Disabled |
| Manage Members | ❌ Disabled |
| Manage Roster | ❌ Disabled |
Creators can customize these permissions when needed.
👤 Player and Athlete Profiles
Eligible Players can connect their BallerCam account with their Athlete Profile. Team membership can be automatically approved when their first and last names match the uploaded roster entry, along with an exact match to their account email or verified phone number.
Athlete Profile ownership still requires the team Creator's approval, even when team membership is automatically approved. If the membership matching requirements are not met, the team membership request also requires Creator approval.
After their Athlete Profile claim is approved, Players can edit permitted profile information. An Athlete Profile already owned by another user is protected from competing ownership claims.
👪 Parents/Guardians, Coaches, and Team Staff
Parents/Guardians, Coaches, and Team Staff can join teams and receive permissions appropriate to their role.
Depending on the permissions set by the Creator, they may be able to help with activities such as:
- Filming
- Scorekeeping
- Managing the roster
- Managing members
- Sharing team content
For Adult teams, Parent/Guardian functionality is hidden because it does not apply to the Adult-team experience.
👀 Fans
Fans are people who primarily want to follow and watch the team.
Fans can:
- Watch livestreams
- Watch available replays
- Receive game alerts
- Follow individual athletes
- Create and share available clips and highlights
Fans do not need team-management permissions to enjoy the team's BallerCam content.
📺 Livestreaming, Recording, and Replays
Teams can use BallerCam to livestream games or record them for later viewing.
After a game, footage can be used for:
- Replays
- Clips and highlights
- Player review
- Stats and game breakdowns
- Sharing with family, players, and coaches
Some features depend on whether the HD recording has finished uploading and processing. Explore View and Panoramic View are available in the app after HD upload and processing.
Trim & Edit Replay lets eligible Creators with an active BallerCam plan, including Base, remove footage from the beginning, end, or middle of the published replay. You can preview changes, undo edits, publish the updated replay, or restore the original replay. Trimming does not change the original recording or existing clips.
Record Only can work offline if you signed in beforehand. Upload the recording later when you have a reliable internet connection.
🎬 Clips and Highlights
Scoring and stat tracking can help BallerCam identify meaningful moments during a game.
For supported workflows, scoring events can be associated with video clips, making it easier to find and share plays without searching manually through the entire game.
For basketball, for example, scoring in real time from a second device can generate clips linked to Play-by-Play and individual players.
After HD upload and processing, Volleyball and Flag Football support shareable Portrait Plays. You can also like, comment on, and share clips, and receive notifications when someone likes your clip.
📊 Teams, Players, and Seasons
BallerCam helps teams organize games, practices, and player content throughout the season.
Schedule games or practices and collect RSVPs. Practice details can include arrival and end times, with an optional scoreboard. Add venue and field or court information so participants can find the correct location and open directions in Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Waze.
Teams can build a continuing BallerCam experience using:
- Team rosters
- Athlete profiles
- Player stats
- Game history
- Season statistics
- Top Plays
- Clips and highlights
Players who appear on multiple teams can also be grouped under a single athlete profile with separate team tabs.

With BallerCam, teams can:
- Film and stream games
- Automatically follow game action
- Keep score
- Track stats
- Build rosters and athlete profiles
- Create and share clips
