How to Join a Team on BallerCam (as a Coach, Parent, or Team Admin)

If you’ve been given a team share link, you can join your team on BallerCam in just a few steps.

When you select your role as Coach, Parent/Guardian, or Team Admin, your access level is determined by your role and the team’s permission settings.

By default, scoring permissions are automatically granted only to Staff, Coaches, and Creators. Parents/Guardians do not have scoring access unless it has been explicitly enabled.

If scoring access is needed, permissions can be granted at any time by the team’s creator:

• Through the Manage Permissions table, or

• By enabling scoring for a specific user

Some roles may still include additional permissions by default (such as filming or roster-related actions), but certain privileges — like scoring — now require creator approval and/or manual enablement depending on role configuration.

While you’re waiting for approval or permission updates, you’ll continue to have fan-level access, including:

• Watching live and replay
• Receiving alerts when the team goes live
• Getting final score push notifications

If you’d like your permissions adjusted at any point, please speak directly with your team’s creator.

How to join a team

1. Get the team link

   • The team creator will send you a single shareable link (via text, email, or team chat).

   • Open the link to start signup on web or in the BallerCam app.

2. Sign up or log in

   • If you don’t already have a free BallerCam account, you’ll be prompted to create one.

   • Signing up only takes a minute (name, email, phone).

3. Select your role

   • Choose Coach, Parent/Guardian, or Team Admin.

   • Add an optional note for the creator (e.g., “Hi, I’m Sean’s guardian. Looking forward to a great season!”).

4. Wait for approval

   • You’ll have fan-level access right away.

   • Once approved by the creator, your full role permissions are unlocked automatically.

Default Permissions (Once Approved)

Permissions vary by role and creator settings.

Coaches & Team Admins (Default Access)

By default, Coaches and Team Admins may be allowed to:

• Add or edit players on the roster
• Score games live from their own device
• End livestreams after games or matches
• Monitor livestream connectivity
• Film games using a compatible iPhone and BallerCam adapter
• Make and share highlight clips
• Watch livestreams and replays
• Receive push alerts and final score notifications

Parents / Guardians (Default Access)

By default, Parents/Guardians can:

• Watch livestreams and replays
• Receive push alerts when the team goes live
• Get final score notifications
• Make and share highlight clips (if enabled)
• Film games (if enabled)

Parents/Guardians do NOT have scoring access by default.

Scoring permissions can be enabled by the team creator at any time via:

• The Manage Permissions table
• Individual user permission updates

⚙️ These permissions are granted automatically once you’re approved, but the team creator can adjust them for your role or for you individually at any time.

✅ Joining is quick, and you’ll always have at least fan-level access while you wait for approval.
