Overview:
Adding players to your team roster in BallerCam is optional, but highly recommended. A team roster enhances the viewing experience, improves clip tagging, and makes your streams feel more professional.
Why Add Players to Your Roster?
- Player names and jersey numbers will display on your streams. This gives your broadcast a professional touch and athletes love seeing their names on screen.
- It enables player-specific tagging and automated highlight clips. For example, when you attribute goals to specific players in soccer, BallerCam can automatically generate highlight clips for those moments.
- Fans can "favorite" specific players. When a favorited player’s game goes live or they’re tagged in a scoring play, fans who follow them can receive automatic alerts.
Who Can Add Players?
- The Creator can manage the entire roster themselves.
- Or the Creator can crowdsource roster management by inviting Members. Learn more about Members here (link)
When you invite Members (using the "Members Only" magic link), they can:
- Help build the team roster
- Film using the Creator’s BallerCam hardware and their own iPhone
- Live score games
- Tag players in key moments
- Invite other trusted Members
Pro Tip:
Consider adding all the parents on your team as Members. This allows them to enter their own child’s name and jersey number, saving you time and effort. BallerCam is designed to help you share the workload.
Where to Your Roster Upload
You can add players in two places:
- From the Home tab → Tap “Add Roster” next to “Start Adding Players”
- From the Team tab → Manage your roster at the top of the screen
What you can add:
- Player’s Name (optional)
- Jersey Number (optional)
- Name + Jersey Number (recommended)
You can start with just one player or add your full team — it’s completely flexible. You can also film games first and add players later if you prefer.
Key Flexibility:
- You can add, edit, or remove players anytime.
- There’s no minimum or maximum roster size.
Adding players improves the experience, but it’s not required to start filming.
Batch Importing a Team Roster in BallerCam
You can now quickly add multiple players to your team roster using BallerCam’s Batch Import feature. Instead of entering players one at a time, coaches and team managers can upload roster information from files, photos, or enter it manually on desktop.
