When you film with BallerCam, every game, practice, and drill is locally recorded in HD on your iPhone — whether you livestream or choose record-only mode.
Uploading that HD recording after your game is a key step to deliver the best possible experience for your team, your fans, and your own storage management.
Why Uploading Matters
1. It Improves Replay Quality for Your Fans
- Livestreams are streamed out at a lower quality (up to 720p) to save bandwidth and improve streaming reliability.
- Uploading replaces that lower-quality livestream version with your full HD (1080p) recording so fans can watch the highest-quality replay.
2. It Corrects for Buffering and Stream Drops
- Livestream quality can be affected by weak internet connections, buffering, or stream interruptions.
-
The HD recording on your iPhone is completely unaffected by internet issues.
- Uploading the HD file ensures the replay is smooth, uninterrupted, and fully intact — even if the livestream had skips or drops.
3. It Will Unlock Explore View (Interactive Mode-Coming Soon!)
- Uploading your HD video will unlock Explore View, which lets viewers control the pan and zoom to look anywhere on the field — as if they’re operating their own camera. (launching soon)
- It also unlocks Panoramic (Tactical) View for a wide-field, strategy-focused perspective. (launching soon)
- Explore View is only available once the HD file has been uploaded. (launching soon)
4. It Improves Clip Quality
- Uploading improves the quality of clips auto-generated from scoring plays.
- It also improves the visual quality of manual clips created by team members and fans.
- Future clip features will also depend on having the HD upload available.
5. It Frees Up Storage on Your iPhone
- Uploading sends the raw HD file to BallerTV’s cloud servers.
- Once the upload is complete, the HD file is automatically deleted from your device to free up local storage.
- You don’t have to personally save or manage your full game videos — the BallerCam cloud saves them for you.
- Currently, BallerCam’s cloud storage policy keeps your uploaded games indefinitely.
✅ Quick Reminders:
- You can find the Upload button in the BallerCam app’s Games tab after your game ends.
- You don’t have to be connected to Wi-Fi — but we recommend it for best upload speed and reliability.
- Uploading requires about the size of your video file in free storage during processing (learn more about storage here).
- If you skip uploading, your 720p livestream replay will remain available, but you’ll miss out on all the benefits listed above.
🔧 Uploading Tips:
- Keep the BallerCam app open during upload for fastest performance. (Uploads will continue in the background but much more slowly.)
- You can pause and resume your upload anytime.
- For larger files, it’s often best to start uploads overnight for minimal interruption.
