When watching replays, you can choose from three different viewing experiences: Smart View, Explore View, and Panoramic View.
While replays in Smart View (our original AI-powered tracking view) are available to all viewers after a game has ended, now when a game or practice has been HD uploaded by the filmer, it unlocks 2 new viewing modes. In other words, after upload, all three viewing options are available to everyone—parents, players, and coaches—so they can study the action from the angle that makes the most sense for them. See more details about each viewing mode below.
(Note: While Smart View is available on desktop, mobile web, and the BallerCam app, Explore View and Panoramic View are only available on desktop and mobile web at the moment.)
🔍 Types of Replay Modes
✅ Smart View (AI-Powered Tracking)
- This is the default replay view for all games filmed with BallerCam.
- BallerCam’s AI automatically pans, zooms, and follows the ball and players.
- Available instantly for all livestreamed games. (Available to others after upload for record-only games.)
✅ Explore View (You Control the Frame)
- Lets viewers take control of the camera angle and zoom.
- Viewers can pan and zoom to any part of the field/court during the replay.
- Great for focusing on off-ball movement, individual players, or missed moments.
- Only unlocked after the creator uploads the video.
✅ Panoramic View (Static 180° Overview)
- Shows the entire field or court at once in a wide, tactical view.
- Slight lens distortion from the fisheye lens is expected.
- Perfect for coaches or fans who want to see all player positions and team shape.
- Only unlocked after the creator uploads the video.

🚫 Why Explore View or Panoramic View Is Disabled
“This feature isn’t available on your device due to technical limitations.”
🙋 What does that mean?
Explore View and Panoramic View require support for a newer video format called H.265 (also known as HEVC). This format lets us deliver high-quality, interactive video while keeping file sizes reasonable.
Some devices support this format automatically. Others don’t—or require an extra install before it works.
Because this is a device or system limitation, the option stays visible but disabled so you know the feature exists, even if your current device can’t use it.
✅ Devices Where This Usually Works Automatically
Most newer devices already support H.265, including:
- Recent iPhones and iPads
- Modern Mac computers
- Many newer Android phones
- Up-to-date desktop browsers on newer hardware
On these devices, Explore View and Panoramic View should be selectable and playable without any extra setup.
🔧 How to Enable This Feature on Your Device
💻 Windows PCs
Some Windows computers don’t include H.265 support by default.
To enable it:
- Open the Microsoft Store
- Search for “HEVC Video Extensions”
- Purchase and install the extension (usually a small one-time cost)
- Refresh your browser and try again
Once installed, the disabled replay modes should become available.
📱 Android Devices
Many Android devices support H.265 automatically
If the option is disabled:
- Make sure your device is fully updated
- Try a different browser (Chrome or Firefox recommended)
- If it’s still unavailable, your device may not support this format
🍎 Apple Devices (iPhone, iPad, Mac)
Apple devices generally support H.265 by default.
If the option is disabled:
- Make sure your device is running the latest OS version
- Refresh the page or restart the browser
- Try another Apple device if available
🔄 If It’s Still Disabled
If your device can’t support this format:
- You can still watch all replays using Smart View
- Try accessing Explore View or Panoramic View from:
- A different device
- A desktop or laptop
- A newer phone or tablet
ℹ️ Quick Summary
- The replay mode buttons may appear but be disabled
- This happens when your device doesn’t support the required video format
- It’s a device limitation, not an account or subscription issue
- Smart View is always available
