Scoring in BallerCam helps create a professional, engaging game experience for fans and players. You can score directly from your filming iPhone or from a secondary iOS device using the BallerCam app.
✅ Reminder: Creators and Members can score games. Fans cannot.
📱 Scoring from the Filming iPhone (Primary Device)
Considerations
-
Not practical if filming from a tall tripod — you won’t be able to reach the screen.
-
Works if filming from low setups like bleachers, tables, or walls.
-
You can always enter the final score at the end of the game when you lower your tripod.
-
Scores can be edited after the game in the BallerCam app.
How to Score on the Primary Device
-
Start the stream.
- On the filming screen, tap the Score button (sport-specific ball icon next to the Stop button).
- You’ll see + / – paddles appear on each side of the screen for each team. (Team colors match what you selected during game setup.)
- Tap + to add a point or goal. Tap – to remove or correct a point.
- Tap the Score button again to hide the paddles if you want to clear your view.
⚙️ Quarter/Half Selection: When you score the first point, BallerCam will prompt you to select the current time period (1st half, 1st quarter, etc.).
Editing Scores
- Tap the pencil icon next to a team’s abbreviation to manually edit the score or team details.
- On this screen, you can also adjust jersey colors or correct team names if needed.
📲 Scoring from a Secondary iPhone (Recommended)
Scoring from a second device is much easier and more common.
Who Can Score
- Creators
- Team Staff and Parents (Fans cannot score.)
How to Score from a Secondary Device

Login to the BallerCam app using your creator or member account.
- On the Home tab, you’ll see a game in progress: “[Creator’s Name] is streaming live” You’ll also see how long ago the game started.
- Tap View Game.
- Tap the white button: Keep Score.
-
You’ll now see the live scoring interface.
Scoring Interface (Secondary Device)
- Select Time Period (Halves or Quarters).
- Decide if you want to track advanced stats.
- By not checking this box, you will score with Basic Stats, which means you will only be able to log standard 2-pointers, 3-pointers, and free throws.
- Select if you want to attribute stats to specific players on your team.
- Select if you want to track stats for the opposing team.
-
Tap "Start Scoring" to score the game.
Attributing Points to Players:
- After you log a point, BallerCam will prompt you to tap on the jersey number of the player who scored.
- You can select any player from your roster.
- If the player isn’t listed, tap the empty jersey with the “+” sign to add a new player immediately.
- If you don’t know who scored, tap “I’m not sure” to skip player attribution.
Assists in Basketball
- You can also track assists by selecting the player’s jersey icon when prompted after each score.
- If you’re not interested in tracking assists, there’s a “Skip Assists” toggle you can activate.
Advanced Stats
With Advanced Stats, you get the flexibility to log even more basketball actions beyond the "Basic" scoring. Advanced Stats are available for just your team or for both teams.
That includes:
- Assists
- Offensive Rebounds
- Defensive Rebounds
- Turnovers
- Steals
- Blocks
- Fouls
- Timeouts
Advanced Stat Menus
- Game Log - Check the "Game Log" tab to see every play you've logged as well as the attributed player.
- Roster - The "Roster" tab shows you a list of each player as well as their high-level stats. It is here you can favorite players, check high-level stats, and see more advanced stats by tapping the name of the player to reveal a stat dropdown.
Automated Player Clips
When you score in real-time on a second device, BallerCam automatically creates clips for that play.
Tap on any play in the Play-by-Play menu to see the clip, which you can then save, clip, or share with others. You can also access the automatic clips from the Roster menu, where you can click on any player to view just their clips.
Viewing and Editing Player Stats
- On the Roster tab during the game, you can see each player’s live stats for goals and assists.
- You can toggle “Track Player Statistics” on or off if you want to hide this data.
- To edit stats:
- Go to the Game Log tab and tap the pencil icon next to any scoring entry to edit or delete it.

Post-Game Editing
- After the game, creators and members can both access the Scoring Plays section in the game edit/summary screen.
- This section is identical to what’s available to creators on the primary device.
- You can:
- Adjust timestamps.
- Attribute missed scoring plays to players.
- Add new goals or points that weren’t captured during the live game.
- Adjust timestamps.
Flexibility in Scoring
Advanced Stats experience is designed to make scoring and stat-keeping as flexible as possible so that you can choose the level of statistical detail you want for your players and team. You have the flexibility to do any or all of the following…
- Keep score
- Keep score with player attribution
- Keep score with advanced stats (choose which stats to track)
- Keep score for both teams or just your team
- Keep score but only track stats for your favorite
Customize Advanced Stats
Advanced Stats lets you track more than points in a basketball game, and it now includes customization so you can choose which advanced stats to track for each game. This is useful if you want a lighter stat set for youth games, or a fuller box-score style breakdown for higher levels of play.
When you enable or disable a stat, the scoring screen updates automatically so you only see the buttons you want to use. Your selections also control what appears in post-game summaries and in the web game breakdown.
What you can customize
You can toggle advanced stats on or off for a single game (per stream), including:
- Fouls
- Steals
- Blocks
- Turnovers
- Offensive rebounds (O-REB)
- Defensive rebounds (D-REB)
- Assists
- Misses (off by default)
Notes:
- Misses are optional. If misses are turned off, shooting percentage displays that depend on misses may not appear.
- Your stat selections apply only to that game (they are not a global setting for your account).
Before the game: Choose enabled stats
- Open the game in the BallerCam app.
- Go to Game Settings.
- Find the Enabled Stats (or Advanced Stats) section.
- Toggle stats on or off based on what you want to track.
- Tap Save to apply your changes.
After saving, the scoring screen will only show buttons for the stats you enabled.
During the game: Track stats while scoring
As you score the game, you can also log advanced actions.
What to expect on the scoring screen:
- Point scoring still works as normal.
- If Advanced Stats are enabled, a row of stat buttons appears during scoring.
- Only the stats you enabled will be shown.
- Each tap records an event that updates game summaries and the web experience.
Tip:
- Button labels may shorten on smaller screens (example: “Turnover” may appear as “TO”).
Mid-game changes: Update enabled stats without restarting
You can adjust your enabled stats during a live game.
- Open Game Settings while scoring.
- Toggle stats on or off.
- Tap Save.
Important:
- Turning a stat off hides the button going forward.
- Previously logged events are not deleted.
After the game: Review stats and adjust what you see
After the game ends, you will see team and player summaries based on your enabled stats.
- Disabled stats will be hidden from the summary views.
- If you want to change what is shown during replay review, use Customize Stats (if available on your Overview/summary screens). Changes save to the same game’s settings.
Web experience: Game Breakdown and live roster tables
When Advanced Stats are captured, web viewers can see a more detailed breakdown (depending on the stream and feature availability), such as:
- Score momentum over time
- Quarter-by-quarter stats
- Shot distribution
- Shot chart
- Live roster tables with per-player stats
The web tables and columns also adapt to the enabled stats for that specific game.
Stat Tagger (web): Correct or add stats after the game
For creators or authorized team members, a web tool may be available to add/correct stats against recorded video:
- Tag plays post-game
- Edit or delete events
- See updated box score and dashboards as changes are made
If you do not have access, you may not see the stat tagging option for that stream.
👥 Multiple Scorers & Visibility
- The BallerCam app will show who is currently scoring the game (based on the last person to enter a point or goal).
- There’s no way to “claim” scoring responsibility in advance — members may need to coordinate offline.
-
Multiple scorers are allowed. Creators and members can score simultaneously, which is great for crowd-sourcing the task.
- Be cautious to avoid accidental duplicate entries when multiple people are scoring at the same time.
✅ Key Reminders
- Scoring is optional but enhances the experience for fans and players.
- Scoring can be done from the filming iPhone, a secondary iPhone, or both.
- Fans can see scores update in real time, but cannot score themselves.
- Final score alerts will be sent to all team fans and members.
- Scoring overlays will appear on the livestream and replay, including the team colors selected during game setup.
- Adding your full roster ensures the best experience
