BallerCam Scoring – Who Can Keep Score and How It Works

BallerCam makes it easy to score games while you film, giving your viewers real-time context and making your game productions feel professional. Scoring is optional, but highly recommended — it enhances the livestream, powers auto-generated highlights, and lets fans stay engaged with the action.

Why Scoring Matters

• Live score display is shown on a sport-specific overlay during the livestream and replay.
   
• Team colors selected during game setup are used in the on-screen score ticker.
   
• Enables auto-generated highlight clips tied to scoring plays.
   
• Provides team and fan alerts when final scores are entered (not live score changes).
   
• Lets you track player stats like goals, points, and assists.
   

Scoring is optional — you can score throughout the game or simply enter the final score at the end. For practices, drills, or other non-competitive filming, you can skip scoring entirely.

Who Can Keep Score in BallerCam?

Creators

The creator (the BallerCam owner and primary account holder) can keep score using:

• The primary filming iPhone (direct scoring)
   
• A secondary iOS device logged into BallerCam
   

Team Staff

Team Staff added to the team by the creator can also score games. They can:

• Score from their own iPhone running the BallerCam app
   
• Share scoring responsibilities with other members
   
• See who’s currently scoring in real time (the app shows who last updated the score)
   

Parents, Coaches, and Fans cannot keep score unless they've been given permission in the Roles & Permissions menu on your BallerCam app Team tab. They can only watch games and view scores as they update.

How Scoring Can Be Done

There are two ways to score a game in BallerCam:

1. Scoring from the Filming iPhone

• Possible, but not very practical since the filming phone is typically elevated on a tripod.
   
• More useful if you’re filming from a table, bleachers, or another setup where you can easily tap the screen.
   
• Commonly used to enter final scores after the game, when the camera is lowered.
   

2. Scoring from a Secondary iPhone

• Recommended method.
   
• Any creator or member can log into the BallerCam app on a separate iOS device and score live.
   
• Secondary devices can access the team’s live game from the Team page and immediately start scoring.
   

Scoring Features

• Sport-specific scoring interfaces (e.g., +3 point button for basketball).
   
• Scores display live on the sport-specific overlay during the livestream and replay.
   
• Team colors selected during game setup are shown on the on-screen score ticker.
   
• Attributing goals and assists to players if they’ve been added to the roster.
   
• Multiple scorers supported — the app will always display who last updated the score.
   
• Final score alerts are sent to team fans and members who follow the team.
