Before you can start filming games with BallerCam, you'll need to create a team. Your team is where you'll manage games, players, team members, permissions, clips, and other team content.
You can create and manage more than one team if needed.
➕ Create a Team
If you're setting up BallerCam for the first time, select Film Your Team and follow the prompts to get started.
If you already use BallerCam:
- Open the BallerCam app.
- Tap Teams.
- Tap the + button.
- Follow the prompts to create a new team.
👤 Select Your Role
Choose the role that best describes you.
Depending on your team setup, options may include:
- Coach
- Team Manager
- Parent/Guardian
Your selection helps BallerCam set up the appropriate team-management experience.
📝 Enter Your Team Information
Follow the prompts to add information about your team.
Team Name
Enter the name of your team.
Using a clear and recognizable team name makes it easier for players, parents, and fans to identify the correct team.
For example:
Baller Stars 13U
📍 Location
Enter or select your team's location.
🏀 Sport
Select the sport your team plays.
Your sport selection determines which sport-specific filming, scoring, stat, and game features are available.
👥 Gender
Select the gender classification that applies to your team.
Available options may include:
- Boys
- Girls
- Boys & Girls
🎂 Age Group
Choose the age group that best represents your team.
Selecting the correct age group is important because some BallerCam roles and team experiences depend on the athletes' ages.
The Player role is available for eligible athletes age 13 and older. Players under 13 are not eligible for the Player role.
For Adult teams, Parent/Guardian functionality is not used. Players can join directly through the Player experience instead.
📅 Season
Select the season that applies to your team.
You can update your team information later if anything changes.
🎨 Add Your Team Logo
You can upload a team logo while creating your team or add one later.
Adding a logo makes your team easier to recognize throughout BallerCam.
✅ Finish Creating Your Team
Once you've entered the required information, complete the setup to create your team.
After your team is created, you'll be taken to your team experience where you can continue setting everything up.
🏠 Navigate Your Team
Your team is organized into several areas:
- Overview — View important team information and quick actions.
- People — Manage players, roster information, members, and permissions.
Games — View and manage games, schedule games and practices, and use RSVP features.
- Clips — Access clips created from your team's games.
You can return to Teams from BallerCam's main navigation whenever you need to switch between teams.
👥 Build Your Roster
After creating your team, add your players to the roster.
Keeping an accurate roster helps with:
- Player identification
- Scoring and stat attribution
- Player-specific clips and highlights
- Athlete profiles
- Player account matching
For eligible Players, BallerCam can automatically approve team membership when their first and last names match the roster entry, along with an exact match to their account email or verified phone number.
Claiming ownership of an Athlete Profile still requires the team Creator's approval, even when team membership is automatically approved.
🔗 Invite People to Your Team
Once your team is ready, invite others to join.
Depending on your team's age group, you can invite people such as:
- Coaches
- Team Staff
- Parents/Guardians
- Players
- Fans
Share your team's invite link and have each person select the role that applies to them.
Player Permissions
Eligible Players have the following default permissions:
| Permission | Default |
|---|---|
| Keep Score | ✅ Enabled |
| Film | ❌ Disabled |
| Manage Members | ❌ Disabled |
| Manage Roster | ❌ Disabled |
Creators can adjust Player permissions when needed.
