How to Install and Use the BallerCam Super Cooler Fan
The BallerCam Super Cooler Fan is based on Peltier Fan technology and is designed for hot-weather recording. It swaps into the same slot as the standard BallerCam fan and adds active cooling to help keep your phone recording during hot games. It is intended for outdoor sideline use when shade and the BallerCam back cover are available.
The Super Cooler has been tested in hot conditions, including up to 105°F with iPhone 15 Pro and newer when used with shade and the BallerCam back cover, and 100°F+ with iPhone 13 Pro. Based on internal testing, it has supported approximately 2–3 hours of continuous recording in hot conditions, though actual runtime will vary by phone model, current phone battery level, shade, airflow, and recording setup.
Before you start
For best results:
- Start with a fully charged phone
- Use the BallerCam back cover
- Keep BallerCam shaded whenever possible
- Avoid direct sun when possible
- Make sure the Super Cooler’s airflow is not blocked
The Super Cooler uses more battery than the standard fan because it provides active cooling. It draws power from the same battery source used by your phone, so starting with a fuller battery will help maximize recording time.
What’s in the box

The Super Cooler is not magnetic. It is designed to drop into the same fan slot used by the standard BallerCam fan.
How the Super Cooler works
The Super Cooler uses thermoelectric cooling. A cold plate transfers heat through BallerCam’s metal adapter plate, while a built-in fan and aluminum heat sink push that heat out of the unit. The cold plate does not touch your phone directly. The BallerCam metal adapter plate sits between the Super Cooler and your phone.
When should I use the Super Cooler?
Use the Super Cooler for hot-weather recording, especially during outdoor games where your phone may be more likely to heat up.
For indoor games, mild outdoor weather, or cooler conditions, the standard BallerCam fan may be sufficient.
How long can I record with the Super Cooler?
In internal testing, the Super Cooler has supported approximately 2–3 hours of continuous recording in hot conditions. Actual runtime varies based on:
- Phone model
- Phone battery level
- External battery level
- Recording mode
- Shade
- Airflow
- Ambient temperature
Because the Super Cooler shares the same battery source as your phone, starting with a fuller battery can help extend runtime.
Can I use it in direct sunlight?
You should avoid direct sunlight whenever possible. The Super Cooler is designed to help in hot conditions, but it does not replace shade. Direct sun on the BallerCam housing can still contribute to phone overheating. Always use the BallerCam back cover and shade when possible.
FAQ
Is the Super Cooler magnetic?
No. The Super Cooler is not magnetic. It swaps into the same slot as the standard BallerCam fan.
Does the cold plate touch my phone?
No. The cold plate presses against BallerCam’s metal adapter plate. It does not touch your phone directly.
What power source does it need?
The Super Cooler requires a 5V / 3A USB power source. You can use the BallerCam battery pack, a compatible USB wall adapter, or a compatible USB power bank.
Will it use more battery than the standard fan?
Yes, it can. The Super Cooler provides more active cooling than the standard fan, which means it can use more power, especially as your phone heats up.
Is this the same thing as the Peltier cooler?
Yes. “Peltier” refers to the cooling technology inside the product. “Super Cooler” is the customer-facing product name.
