Using Match Time for Soccer in BallerCam – BallerCam

Match Time lets you track the official game clock (e.g., 23’) instead of relying only on stream time. It runs separately from your live stream and reflects how a real soccer game is played.

This article explains how Match Time works and how to use it during your games.

What is Match Time?

BallerCam now supports two types of time:

Stream Time: The total time since your stream started
Match Time: The official game clock (first half, second half, etc.)

Match Time is used for:

Scoreboard display during live viewing
Tagging goals, moments, and clips
Game logs and highlight organization

Stream Time is still used for video playback and syncing.

How to Enable Match Time

Match Time is automatically available for soccer games.

To start Match Time:

Start your stream at any time (before or after kickoff)
Open the Scorekeeper
Select 1st Half

Once you select 1st Half, Match Time will:

Start automatically
Display on the scoreboard
Begin tagging events with match time

There is no separate “Start Clock” button.

Managing Match Time During a Game

Start the Match

Select 1st Half → Match Time starts

Halftime

Select Halftime → Match Time stops

Start the Second Half

Select 2nd Half → Match Time resumes

Extra Time and Penalties

Selecting Extra Time periods will start the clock when play begins
Selecting Penalties will stop the match clock permanently
Penalty events will not show a match minute

Ending Match Time

You can end Match Time while continuing your stream.

Steps:

Tap End Match

This will:

Stop the match clock
Set the game state to final
Allow your stream to continue for postgame coverage

Any events after this point will not include Match Time.

What Viewers See

When Match Time is active:

A live match clock appears in the scoreboard overlay
Goals and Moments display with official match minutes (e.g., 23’)

This helps viewers follow the game more naturally.

Match Time in Clips and Replays

After the game, Match Time appears in:

Clips and highlights
Moments
Game logs
Scoring plays

Events are labeled with the match minute when they occurred.

What Happens if the App Closes?

If the app is restarted during a game:

Match Time will resume automatically
The clock will stay accurate
You do not need to reset anything

Tips for Best Results

Start your stream early, then begin Match Time at kickoff when the whistle blows
Always select halftime and second half at the correct times
Use pause/resume for interruptions instead of switching states
End Match Time when the game is complete, even if you keep streaming

Can I edit Match Time after the game?
Not currently.

Can I start Match Time late?
Yes. If your stream starts after kickoff, you can still begin Match Time when you’re ready.

Does this work for other sports?
Match Time is currently available for soccer only.
